If it takes you more than 5 to 10 hours of your time to post on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, use word of mouth, have dozens and dozens of text and phone calls only to not find the right fit, then you’re way better off using CoLife.

Co-living can be a great way to save money or make extra cash while enjoying community, flexibility, new life experiences and more.

But, whether you’re looking for the right room to rent or the right person to fill your space, the problems can be huge. How do you know if you can trust this person? What if they are terrible to live with? How do you even begin to find the right situation? What if they have pets? What if they aren’t okay with you having pets? And what about the amount of time and effort it takes just to find out it’s not going to work out after all?

CoLife is here to help save you time and effort to find you the right fit and someone you can trust.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Fill out the I have extra space form if you want to be a host, or the I need a safe, affordable place to live form if you want to be a guest.

  2. We will call you within one business day to introduce ourselves and clarify any questions from your submission, tell you more about our process, and answer any questions that you might have.

  3. We'll send you matches we think are a good fit for you based on your desires and preferences, including pictures. Once you're convinced we can help you, we will run a background and credit check. This cost is $49. It is refundable for 30 days if we do not match you.

  4. Once all parties have gone through the background and credit check, we will then set up times for you to meet matches preferably at your home so you can show the potential guest the space, and if not then a convenient third party location like a coffee shop or a Starbucks (If the potential guest is moving here from out of town we will set up a Facetime call). It’s important to meet face to face and to see the potential home in person and have the opportunity to get to know each other.

  5. If it’s not a match, we’ll keep looking until we find you one. If it is a match, there's one of two ways you can pay.

  1. Option one is a one time fee: For customers who prefer a one time fee, you can pay 4% of the total rent amount up front. There is a minimum $199 total. If you're not satisfied and either the host or guest decides to part ways within the first 30 days, we'll either help you find a new guest/host or give you back 50% of your total payment.

  2. Option two is pay as you go: We offer a pay as you go option for customers who commit to a 6 month minimum stay. In this case it is a monthly service fee of 6% of the monthly rent amount for the duration of the stay. With that fee you'll receive additional ongoing support from us at CoLife and we'll handle the transaction.

*In rare cases of one month stays where the total rent amount is less than $800, CoLife will lower its fee and reach out directly to the host and guest in this case.*

When you compare your time and effort and the risk of finding the wrong fit, it’s well worth the cost for a much better chance to find someone you’ll love co-living with!
